"2010 Challenge to Greatness"

The trolley is coming to your house soon!  Look for the trolley packet for your neighborhood and accept the "2010 Challenge to Greatness" by signing the blue card included in your envelope and returning it to the packet before taking the Trolley packet to its next stop.  Remove the "Fan of Faith" from your envelope and this is your gift as part of the Challenge.  Our stewardship emphasis for the 2010 Challenge to Greatness. includes four parts which we call W+3.  W is for worship,  and the three other esssential elements of growth as a Christian are Small Group, Service, and Giving!

Get  ready  to take the Challenge!

You can help our church earn money by using GoodSearch when you do searches on the internet. Go to www.goodsearch.com and enter Gadsden First United Methodist Church as your charity. For every search, the church earns about a penny. That doesn't sound like much, but if a number of members do this on a regular basis, it can add up over the course of a year. This is a way that you can contribute extra to your church!

Spiritual Gifts Commitment Forms

Spiritual Gifts Commitment Forms are available in the church office.

If you have not filled one out, please take the time to fill out this form to indicate which areas of the ministries of our church you would like to serve.  This information will be very valuable to the Leaders of our Ministry Teams as plans for ministries are made and carried out through during the year!  Bring this form with you on Sunday, or turn it to Dotty in the church office.

Contribution and Financial News

ü          To ensure your church contributions are tax deductible, do not file your 2008 income tax return until you have received a written acknowledgment (statement) of your contributions from the church. Some of your contributions may not be tax deductible if you file your tax return before receiving this written acknowledgment.

ü          The contribution statements for the year 2008 will be mailed to you by the end of January. Please try to look over them when they come, in case there is an error that needs to be corrected. Contact Jane Newman at the church office if you have questions or concerns.

ü          The IRS says ALL contributions, no matter the amount, must have a bank record or written acknowledgment from the charity other than your personal records. If you write a check, that will be proof, but the $250 rule will still apply. If you give cash, please put it in an envelope with your name on it if you want to get contribution credit for it. Otherwise you will have no way to prove, for tax purposes, that you made a donation.
